What's Coming in the New Hostshare
If you've been a member of Hostshare, you already know the idea works. You share your unbooked nights, you travel to other hosts' homes, and you pay the cleaning fee for your stay, no nightly rates. That core stays exactly the same — because it's proven.
What's changing is everything around it. A new membership structure that gives you more from day one. A wallet that grows the more you host. A booking experience that opens up six months of availability all at once. And a platform finally built to take Hostshare global.
This is the version of Hostshare we've always wanted to build. Here's what it means for you.
What's Changing?
Four membership tiers:
The single $395/year plan is being replaced by four tiers: Starter, Starter Plus, Pro, and Max. If you're a current paid member, you'll be automatically enrolled as a Founding Member at the Max tier when we launch — with everything that comes with it. Your price will be grandfathered at $395/year for as long as you stay active.
A nights and credits wallet that actually rewards you:
Your account will have a wallet that tracks nights and credits. Nights come with your tier upfront and never expire on any paid plan. Nights used to expire at your renewal, but now they don't. Instead, they roll over and accumulate year over year for as long as you stay an active subscriber — your nights are yours to keep. Credits are worth $1 each and apply directly to the service fee at checkout. The more you host and engage with the platform, the more your wallet grows.
One share contract across all your listings:
Share contracts are moving from per-listing to membership-level. One contract will cover all your properties combined, with nights pooled and split fairly. If you have multiple listings, this is a meaningful simplification — one calculation, one commitment, one contract.
A cleaner, unified fee model:
Previously, the fee structure varied depending on which booking mode you were using. Going forward there's one consistent Hostshare service fee across all bookings — 15% of the comparable Airbnb price for the dates you're staying. One line, covers everything including damage protection. And with your credits wallet, most members will be able to offset it almost entirely.
One unified search:
The Last-Minute and Advanced booking modes are being retired. In their place is one unified search experience with a single calendar showing every available home across the next six months. No modes to switch between, no restrictions by tier. Just search, find somewhere you want to go, and book it.

A faster, more intuitive platform:
Beyond the new features, the platform itself has been rebuilt from the ground up. Pages load faster, navigation is more intuitive, and the mobile experience feels truly native. Managing your calendar is easier than ever, and members get an improved hosting dashboard that gives you a clearer picture of your listing, your wallet, and your bookings all in one place. Every interaction — from browsing listings to hosting a stay — has been reimagined. And because we've built on a solid new foundation, we'll be able to ship new features faster than ever before — so the platform will keep improving long after launch.
What isn't changing
The things that make Hostshare work aren't going anywhere:
You'll still pay cleaning fees for stays (no nightly rates), with credits covering some or all of the service fee
The nights you share are still calculated based on your average nightly rate — higher-value properties share fewer nights, lower-value properties share more. The exchange stays fair across the network
All bookings remain instant — no approval required, no waiting
Your listing, calendar sync, and payout setup will carry over automatically — no need to re-list
The Hostshare Pledge still applies — available dates are honored and the community takes that seriously
For Founding Members — a thank you for being here first!
If you're a current paid member, when Hostshare 2.0 launches you'll be enrolled as a Founding Member for life. This is our way of recognizing those who believed in this early and made it possible to build what's coming.
Here's exactly what Founding Members will receive:
Tier: Max, permanently
Price: $395/year, locked forever — no increases, ever, regardless of where Max pricing goes
Nights at migration: Keep all your nights currently in your account. At your renewal, you will receive 21 nights + 3 (per listing added).
Credits at migration: $1,000 if your blockout dates are set during the migration period; $100 if not. Credits renew at $100 each year at renewal.
Founding Member badge: Displayed on your profile and visible to other members in search and messaging
Every future Max feature: Included automatically as the platform grows
Founding Member status is only available to members who are with us before launch. Once the new Hostshare goes live, new members will join at standard pricing. Your status and your price are locked for life.
A note for Last-Minute members:
If you've been using Hostshare exclusively through Last-Minute bookings, nothing will be forced to change. You'll still have access to that experience for now, and your $395/year price stays the same either way.
However, the migration period is the only window to unlock your full $1,000 Founding Member credits grant. If you set your blockout dates during this period, you'll move into the new platform and receive your credits in full. If you choose to stay in Last-Minute mode, your account will remain as-is — but the $1,000 credits won't be available to you.
The Last-Minute experience may not be around forever, and the new platform is a significant upgrade in what you can do and where you can go. When you're ready, it'll be worth it.
A note for Advanced members:
If you've been using Hostshare Advanced, the transition will feel seamless. At launch you'll automatically receive all Founding Member Max benefits just by accepting the new terms of service — your price locks at $395/year forever, your nights carry over, and your badge will be on your profile from day one. Your existing blockout dates from you current contract will carry over exactly as they are — you don't need to do anything with them until your renewal. Previously, the number of blockout nights you received was based on your average nightly rate. Going forward, every member gets 200 blockout days per year. You'll receive your full 200 at your next renewal, but until then your current blockout nights stay in place and your $1,000 credits grant will be applied automatically at launch.
Looking Ahead To Launch
When Hostshare 2.0 launches, your listing, calendar sync, and payout account will all transfer automatically. No re-listing, no rebuilding from scratch. You'll land in the new platform and it'll feel familiar from day one (besides all the great updates!)
One thing worth knowing: if you set your 200 blockout dates during the migration period, you'll unlock the full $1,000 in credits — enough to cover the service fee across several trips and make the "only pay for cleaning" promise literally true. It takes just a few minutes and the platform makes it easy. But there's no pressure — everything works without it, and you can always set them whenever you're ready.
We'll be in touch with more details as we get closer to launch. We can't wait for you to see what's coming.
