The "only pay for cleaning" math:
A Max member with $1,000 in credits will offset the Hostshare service fee entirely across several trips. Combined with your annual membership fee, in practice you're paying for membership upfront and then just covering cleaning at each stay — which has always been the Hostshare promise.

Calculated at the membership level across all listings:
Share Nights = ROUND( (21 × Platform Avg Rate) ÷ Your Avg Rate )

Founding Member pricing is only available to members who joined before 2.0 launched. This path is now closed to new members.
Downgrading from Max:
Downgrades take effect at end of your billing cycle. At downgrade to Pro, all granted nights and credits are forfeited and a fresh Pro grant (+11 nights, +$100 credits) is added. Your earned nights and earned credits are always kept. You'll see exactly what you're giving up before confirming — this cannot be undone.
