Hostshare Guest Cancellation Policy

Hostshare is designed for last-minute stays, which means we operate with a unique cancellation policy to protect both our guests and our host community. To balance flexibility with reliability, we offer a short cancellation window along with clear guidelines for exceptions.

Free Cancellation Window – 12 Hours

Guests may cancel their booking for free within 12 hours of making the reservation. This grace period gives members the opportunity to cancel in case of an accidental booking or sudden change in plans.

If you cancel within this 12-hour window:

  • Any payment made will be fully refunded

  • Any free nights used will be reinstated to your account

This policy provides peace of mind for hosts, helping prevent last-minute cancellations after they’ve started preparing for a stay. It also gives guests a fair opportunity to cancel if unexpected circumstances arise or plans change shortly after booking.

After 12 Hours – Non-Refundable

Once the 12-hour window passes, your booking becomes non-refundable. This means:

  • No refund will be issued

  • Free nights will not be returned to your account

This policy helps ensure stability and commitment on both sides of the platform, allowing hosts to manage their properties confidently and encouraging guests to book with intention.

Exceptions for Verified Booking Issues

In rare cases where something goes wrong with a stay, we’ve built in safeguards for guests. If there is a verified booking issue—such as:

  • The host is unresponsive

  • The property is unavailable

  • Or another issue that prevents the stay from happening

You will receive:

  • A full refund

  • Your free nights reinstated, regardless of when the issue is reported

This exception ensures that guests are not penalized for legitimate platform-related problems while maintaining overall consistency and fairness.
