Booking Next Steps for Guests

Written by Faith W

You're booked! Here's what to expect next:

Quick checklist:

  1. Wait for your host to confirm

  2. Don't make travel arrangements until you've connected with your host

  3. Contact support if you don't hear back within 12 hours

1. Wait for Host Confirmation

Your host is automatically notified as soon as you complete your booking — you don't need to send a separate message to introduce yourself. Give your host up to 12 hours to confirm the reservation; they'll be in touch with check-in details closer to your stay.

In the meantime, a friendly, prompt reply if your host reaches out goes a long way — you're staying in someone's home, and clear, courteous communication helps set the tone for a great stay on both sides.

2. Don't Make Travel Arrangements Yet

This is important: hold off on booking flights, transportation, or any other non-refundable plans until your host has confirmed the reservation and you've connected with them directly.

Why it matters: on rare occasions, things like calendar sync errors or unexpected host emergencies can affect a booking after it's made. Hostshare is not responsible for any costs or losses from travel arrangements made.

3. Contact Support If You Don't Hear Back

If 12 hours pass with no response, or your host lets you know they can't fulfill the booking, reach out to Hostshare Support:
