Hostshare keeps costs simple and transparent. There are no nightly rates — just two straightforward fees. Here's exactly what you pay and why.
When you book a stay on Hostshare, the nights come out of your wallet to cover the stay itself. Beyond that, there are just two fees to know about: the Hostshare service fee and the cleaning fee.
The Two Fees
Fee 01 — Hostshare service fee A flat 15% of the comparable Airbnb price for your dates. Covers everything, including up to $50,000 in damage protection — and your credits can offset it, often down to $0.
Fee 02 — Cleaning fee Set by the host to cover the real cost of preparing the property. Paid directly to the host, and always separate from your credits.
The Hostshare service fee
Hostshare charges one simple service fee on every booking — 15% of the comparable Airbnb price for the same property and dates. This replaces nightly rates entirely.
The service fee is a single, all-in charge. It covers damage protection, processing fees, and the cost of running the platform — there are no separate fees or hidden line items. To learn more about the Hostshare service fee see this help article —>.
Credits offset the service fee
Your credits apply directly to the service fee at checkout, automatically — no codes or manual steps. Credits can only be applied to the service fee, never to the cleaning fee. For members with a healthy credits balance, the service fee is often reduced to nothing. To learn more about your wallet and credits see this help article —>.
Damage protection is included
Damage protection is built right into the service fee — there is no separate damage protection charge at checkout. Every booking is automatically covered by Truvi for up to $50,000 in damage protection, with no action needed from you. If something goes wrong during a stay, you can file an incident report and our team will help. Guests are also automatically screened before every booking, all in the background. To learn more about our damage protection coverage, see this help article —>.
In short: the service fee is how Hostshare stays running and keeps every stay protected — including up to $50,000 in damage coverage — and your credits are designed to cover it.
The cleaning fee
We all know there are costs associated with hosting guests — so, of course, cleaning has to be paid for. At Hostshare, we're all about fairness and transparency, making sure cleaning fees cover real costs, not hidden profit. The cleaning fee is set by each host and paid directly to them. Because Hostshare has no nightly rates, it's typically the main out-of-pocket cost of a stay.
How cleaning fees are set
When you import your listing during onboarding, we automatically apply the cleaning fee directly from Airbnb or your PMS software. We understand this may not always reflect the full cost of hosting — so if you need to adjust your cleaning fee to cover additional expenses, you can do so up to a certain amount. The Hostshare support team may request verification of those costs to keep things fair and transparent.
Our priority is to support hosts by making sure they don't incur unexpected costs for sharing their properties. We want the platform to promote free travel by encouraging members to make the most of their vacant nights — so cleaning fees are meant to cover actual expenses, never to generate profit.
We trust our hosts to set reasonable cleaning fees and maintain the spirit of sharing that makes Hostshare unique. The support team is always available if questions come up about fees or listings. To learn more about how cleaning fees are set see this help article —>.
