Hostshare offers two ways to share and travel on the platform that can be managed in your Travel & Sharing Settings — Hostshare Last Minute (our original model) and Hostshare Advanced™.
The comparison below explains the differences between Last-Minute and Advanced™ so you can choose the setup that works best for you. Both give you access to free travel nights by sharing your home with other verified hosts. You can choose to use just Last-Minute or Last-Minute & Advanced hand in hand — whichever fits your travel and hosting style best.
Hostshare Last Minute (Original Model)
This is the original Hostshare model built for spontaneous, last-minute travel between hosts.
How it works:
Travelers can book available stays within 5 days of check-in
Hosts share nights that would otherwise go unbooked
Travelers pay the cleaning fee (to the host) plus a small flat fee per booking
There is no nightly rate — you’re not paying like you would on Airbnb or other booking platforms
Nights shared are balanced based on each listing’s average nightly rate, keeping exchanges fair between hosts
Available only to verified hosts within the Hostshare community
Why it’s great:
Protects your high-demand dates automatically
Keeps the Hostshare model simple and flexible
Perfect for hosts who rely on other platforms for most bookings
Hostshare Advanced™
Hostshare Advanced™ is designed for those who want to plan ahead while still preserving the sharing model you love.
How it works:
Hosts opt in to open part of their calendar for early bookings (as far as 6 months in advance).
Travelers can book up to 180 days in advance, beyond the 5-day window
Travelers pay the cleaning fee (to the host) plus a small percentage-based fee calculated from your trip’s savings
There is no nightly rate — even with advance stays, you’re not paying traditional nightly pricing
Nights shared are balanced based on each listing’s average nightly rate, keeping exchanges fair between hosts
Available only to verified hosts who are part of the Hostshare community
We use Wheelhouse™ data to calculate your Bookability Score™, helping you decide which dates to open
Why it’s great:
Ideal for planning ahead
Keeps you in control with customizable blockout dates
Gives you the best of both worlds — plan early while protecting your revenue
